As an IT Service Desk Technician you will provide level 1 and 2 helpdesk support for our network of Telstra Retail Stores, Telstra Business and Technology Centres, Support Centre and other points of presence as necessary.


  • Support of standard applications in the endpoint environment
  • Provision of new and re-issue existing desktops, notebooks and related IT equipment
  • On-site store visits as required to support Vita footprint activities
  • Co-ordinate internally and liaise with Vendors for hardware equipment repairs (desktop, laptop, mobility devices, printers, TV’s etc) 
  • Assist stores with day-to-day operational procedures and systems maintenance via telephone and providing remote session support
  • Ensure that all requests and their subsequent resolutions are recorded in the Vita Group ticket tracking system
  • Creation and initial configuration of ‘new starter’ AD accounts and mailboxes
  • AD Account, security group and Mailbox adds/moves/changes for existing staff
  • Support IT asset tracking and management within JDE
  • Monthly extended hours to support stocktake
  • Confirming daily sales collections have been successful across retail sites
  • Reconciliation of transactions between stores and Support Centre
  • Support testing new versions of software, eg. POS, Office Suites, Adobe

Your Attributes

  • Experience in a Service Desk or Desktop Support environment or qualifications in IT
  • Prior experience supporting network and infrastructure equipment such as routers, switches, VoIP, PSTN, ISDN, DSL and NBN
  • Prior experience supporting a desktop environment comprised Windows 7/10, O365, Desktops, Laptops, etc
  • Professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including technical-writing
  • Passionate about providing exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of:
      • POS Systems
      • Retail Industry
      • SCCM Application and SOE deployment
      • Call/ticket logging systems
      • Mac Software including MAC OS-X, Mac Mail, Notes, Numbers and various Mac Hardware desirable
  • Ability to:
      • Provide remote and desk-side support
      • Support complex technical environments
      • Identify, analyse, and resolve a problem effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software packages, create user guides and implement software packages into the businesses core network
